Help the Victims of Hurricane Katrina |
|
Thursday, 01 September 2005 |
As I've been visiting with people at the State Fair this week, the disaster from hurricane Katrina has been on many Minnesotans' minds. I know that you share in my family's thoughts and prayers for those who have lost loved ones, been injured, or lost their homes, businesses and schools.
The weeks and months ahead will be difficult for our neighbors to the south, but with our help and the support, and that of the entire nation, they will begin to heal and rebuild their towns and their lives.
I know many of you have already reached out to assist the victims of the hurricane. If you haven't, I urge you to consider supporting the relief and recovery efforts by donating to the American Red Cross .
I am proud to live in a country that responds to disasters like the hurricane as one nation. Although the most devastating effects of the hurricane are being felt hundreds of miles away, we in Minnesota know that when we act together, our nation moves forward together.
