Our Veterans - Honoring Everyday Heroes |

Last month, many of you wrote to me and shared eloquent stories of friends and family members who served bravely in World War I and II, the Korean War, Vietnam and the war in Iraq. As Tim told us, our veterans "truly make me understand what sacrifice is."
After attending this year's Memorial Day services and talking to widows and families and veterans at Fort Snelling, I wrote to you about how proud I am to live in a country where we wrap our arms around the people who need it the most. Patriotism means that we never turn our backs on our veterans when they return from war and we embrace their families here at home. Minnesota veterans and their families are among the everyday heroes who can trust that I will stand up and speak up for them as a U.S. Senator.
