Serving potica (pronounced po-teet-za), to the DFL State Central Committee delegates in St. Cloud was a big hit. This was always a favorite holiday walnut bread made by my Slovenian grandma Mary in Ely. Don't discount the power of the Slovenian/potica vote in 2006. We're small but mighty (25,000 strong in Minnesota) and already claim one congressman (our own Jim Oberstar) and a Senator (Tom Harkin of Iowa) in Washington. (Yet another example of the keen insider information you get from reading the Klobuchar Chronicle).
Thanks for all the young exuberant volunteers who helped us at the Convention. A lot of Klobuchar stickers in the crowd!
